Quick Skincare Hacks - Easy Ways Men Can Treat Their Skin

As a man, you don’t have much time to spend on your skin. Your day is packed full, but that doesn’t mean you don’t care about the condition of your face. Fresh, glowing skin can be an enormous confidence-booster, and gives you an extra spring in your step as you go about your daily routine.

Here are five quick skincare hacks for men: easy, simple tricks that give your skin that something more. They’re easy to fit into your daily routine, and only one--- #3, as it happens—takes more than five minutes out of your day.

Use Tea Tree Oil for Acne and Breakouts

You’ve tried acne treatments and breakout creams, and sometimes they’re helpful. But did you know there’ s a natural way to get at the same result? Tea tree oil, essential oil distilled from the leaves of Melaleuca alternifolia, is nature’s own acne treatment. With antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, and anti-fungal properties, this oil can significantly reduce the number of acne lesions you get on your face. It might work slower than chemical formulas, but it will also deliver fewer unpleasant side effects

Drink, drink, drink

Water, that is. While alcohol can do a number on your skin and leave you looking way older than you could possibly be, water is your skins best friend. Work in at least 8 fluid ounces a day, and more is better.  This water will flush toxins out of your system—clarifying your skin—and hydrate your epidermis from the inside out.

Get Your Sleep (7-8 hours daily, minimum)

Beauty sleep, they call it, and there’s a reason for it. When you’re asleep is when your skin gets to focus on repair, and there’s a lot of repair to be done after a busy day out in the world.

Sure, you can get by on five hours of sleep, but you’ll be functioning subpar and your face will show it. Unless damaged, wrinkled skin is a secret goal you’ve cherished, get the sleep in and let your skin do its nighttime thing.

Shave in the Shower (Or When You’re Just Done)

Rather than attack your stubble when it is stiff and unyielding, soften up in the shower first. You’ll be surprised at how much less resistance there is to a razor cut. You can either shave right in the shower--- no reason you can’t have your face mirror hanging right there with you—or just as soon as you get out.

Use After-Shave After the Shave

If you’re used to calling it done when your shave is finished, here’s an extra step that can add huge dividends.  Use a quality after shave balm—like the one included in our men’s shave set— to sooth any irritation, eliminate redness, and leave your face moisturized and nourished. No matter how good a job you do, shaving is going to be abrasive. The extra twenty seconds it takes to apply your aftershave can make all the difference in how quickly your skin regenerates.

Wash Twice a Day--- and Moisturize After Both

Washing too much can be as harmful as not washing at all. The sweet spot for your face is twice a day, and use moisturizer after each wash. Use a good face cleanser to get rid of all the day’s grime in the evening, just before you go to bed. This will clear your pores and enable your skin to breathe as you sleep overnight.

If your skin is dry, you can get by in the morning with just a water rinse—followed by an application of that face moisturizer. If you’re more on the oily side, you’ll want to do a full face wash before you begin your day.

Skincare for men doesn’t have to be complicated, and incorporating a few of these hacks into your day is an easy way to stay ahead of the game.
